Palin to Resign as Alaska Governor July 25th!
I’d like to thank everyone who helped make this possible… this excites me to no end
Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) announced this afternoon she will resign from office by the end of the month and return to private life, a stunning decision by last year’s Republican vice presidential candidate to leave office before the end of her first term.
“We know we can effect positive change outside government at this moment in time on another scale and actually make a difference for our priorities,” Palin said in a news conference alongside a lake in her hometown of Wasilla, Alaska.
Palin, 45, has been seen as a leading candidate for the GOP presidential nomination in 2012. She did not make clear today whether she plans to seek that office or any other. Using a basketball analogy, she said, “I know when it’s time to pass the ball for victory.”
Palin said the decision to resign had been in the works “for a while” and was based on prayer and talking with her husband, Todd, and their five children. Her kids, she said, encouraged her to step down.
“It was four ‘yeses’ and one ‘hell yeah,’ and the ‘hell yeah’ sealed it,” Palin said.
Palin said she knew she would not run for reelection as governor, and she did not want to be a “lame duck” merely for the sake of serving out the remainder of her term.
“I cannot stand here as your governor and allow the millions of dollars and all that time go to waste just so I can hold the title of governor,” she said.
Palin spokeswoman Meg Stapleton rejected the idea the move was aimed at better positioning herself for 2012. “She is not focused on 2012 — she is focused on making a difference on the topics she finds so dear: energy independence [and] national security.”
Palin’s decision not to run for reelection in 2010 and to leave office imminently came as a shock to Republican strategists today.
“We’ve seen a lot of nutty behavior from governors and Republican leaders in the last three months, but this one is at the top of that,” said John Weaver, a longtime friend and confidant of Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), the party’s presidential nominee in 2008 whose of selection of Palin catapulted the first-term Alaska governor to national prominence.
Palin’s standing in public opinion polls in Alaska had been diminishing in recent months as she pursued her national ambitions and rejected some federal stimulus money amid ethics investigations into her office.
Alaska Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell (R), who will succeed Palin, appeared with Palin and complimented her service to the state.

FREE SARAH PALIN!!!
************* NEWS FLASH ***************
FREE SARAH PALIN!!! With only just over a month over until the Presidential Election, the Republican Party has taken Sarah Palin into captivity! Despite efforts of the news media, Democratic Party and even the people of the United States attempts to free her have been futile! Clearly this is a violation of her first amendment rights!
Seriously though… why hasn’t the news media had any access to her? Barbie is the new Patty Hearst! Ha-ha.
From John McCain’s site…
Increasing Transparency
Accountability and transparency are the pillars of essential reform. Americans deserve to know how their elected representatives are spending their money.
American Citizens deserve to know how their elected representatives are spending their money and we deserve to know WHO our elected representatives are. If Palin is so tough why in god’s green earth is she incapable of standing up to the media? Why must she be protected like a newborn?
John McCain, do the nation a favor, ask her to bow out. Not because she is a woman, a mother, from Alaska. However, ask her to step out because, like most everything else you were wrong, she is out of her league.
You know why Biden isn’t getting very much coverage? The media has to cover evenly, and 0 + 0 = 0.

AP Finally Unraveling The Mystery!
Palin kept donations from tainted politicians
JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) — Sarah Palin felt so strongly about the public corruption indictment of a Republican state senator this summer that she urged him to resign — but not strongly enough to return the $1,000 he gave to help elect her governor.
The donation from John Cowdery was one of two from Alaska legislators who contributed to Palin’s 2006 campaign weeks after the FBI raided their offices. The sprawling public corruption scandal that followed became a rallying point for candidate Palin, who was swept into office after promising voters she would rid Alaska’s capital of dirty politics.
One of the donors is awaiting trial and Cowdery was indicted in July on two federal bribery counts. Palin, now GOP presidential nominee John McCain’s running mate, has not returned their donations, according to campaign finance disclosures reviewed Thursday.
Palin’s campaign said it was looking into the matter Thursday following repeated requests for comment from The Associated Press.
Over the years, both McCain and Democratic nominee Barack Obama have returned campaign donations tied to corruption, expressing regret in both cases. Obama’s campaign says he’s given to charity $159,000 tied to convicted Chicago real estate developer Antoin “Tony” Rezko. In the early 1990s, McCain returned $112,000 from Charles Keating, a central figure in the savings and loan crisis, after a Senate ethics inquiry.
I don’t even want to taint this article with any potential inaccuracies….

Barbie and her knowledge!

Caribou Barbie Rapes the raped.
Alaska Gov. [Caribou Barbie]’s hometown required women to pay for their own rape examinations while she was mayor, a practice her police chief fought to keep as late as 2000.
Former state Rep. Eric Croft, a Democrat, sponsored a state law requiring cities to provide the examinations free of charge to victims. He said the only ongoing resistance he met was from Wasilla, where [Barbie] was mayor from 1996 to 2002.
“It was one of those things everyone could agree on except Wasilla,” Croft told CNN. “We couldn’t convince the chief of police to stop charging them.”
The above excerpt is from Palin’s town charged women for rape exams(CNN). This is the woman countless American’s fight to put into office everyday! Country First my ass! How in the world could you claim “Country First” as your campaign’s motto when you put your city’s spending ahead of the people in the town who voted you in? What’s next, we’ll add another fee for every call made to 911, every time a cop responds to a call? Do the citizens of Wasilla not pay taxes like the rest of the country? How could you EVER justify this?
It took the legislature until the year 2000 to BAN the sale of rape kits in Alaska just so her staff could not rape the victims again! That has to be the most giant slap in the face in the world. “Officer, you’re telling me it’s going to cost me a thousand dollars to put the person who raped me in jail?” WHAT THE FUCK?
If this is Caribou Barbie’s “experience”, THE ONE SHE REFERS TO SO OFTEN WE, THE PEOPLE, SHOULD NOT WANT IT. I am a male and have never been so offended in my entire life. I could fill this entire post with vulgar words describing how I feel however, for the sake of the integrity of myself and my fellow fake journalists I will not. (They would probably prefer I did).
To top it all off…
For years, Alaska has had the worst record of any state in rape and in murder of women by men. The rape rate in Alaska is 2.5 times the national average.
Of course, Barbie’s clan blamed it on the budget. She is so willing to cut millions of dollars from this, that and the other thing, but couldn’t make room for an extra ~$14,000 a year for rape kits? Righto.
She does recall Palin going through the budget in detail. She said Palin would review each department’s budget line by line and send it back to department heads with her changes.
“Sarah is a fiscal conservative, and so she had seen that the city was heading in a direction of bigger projects, costing taxpayers more money, and she was determined to change that,” Patrick said. (Judy Patrick, who was Palin’s deputy mayor and friend)
It speaks for itself…
Palin, rapists first.

Reading Comprehension 101
In response to criticisms of my first article, I would just like to say, What were you reading?? I am in no way saying that Sarah Palin [Caribou Barbie], or any woman for that matter cannot, or should not be in office because she has children. What I am saying is, and try to stay with me here, she said herself, two years ago, that she could not be in senate because of her kids. I am simply asking how she plans to handle being Vice President of this country now that she has even more children than she did when she couldn’t handle senate.
Some may say that my view is sexist, but, being a woman myself, I assure you it is not. Rather, it is a logical view point. Typically, men who choose to run for office have grown children. McCain’s youngest is 17, Biden’s children are in their 30’s. When this is not the case, there is usually a wife dedicated to her husband and willing to pick up the slack, so to speak. Obama and his wife, for example.
So what happens when a woman wantes to be in politics? Well, women want equal rights, so they should handle this in the same manner as men. Either wait until your children are grown, or have a husband willing to play mommy. I don’t care how much of a feminist you are or how much you love Palin, it is not possible to be “soccer mom” or as I’ve been corrected, “hockey mom”, and vice president of this country. You cannot give 100% to your family as well as to your country. Somewhere something is going to give.
Now, some of you have accused me of attacking Palin’s mothering skills, and again I ask you, What are you reading?? Personally, I don’t care if her daughter is knocked up, I don’t care that she drinks underage, I don’t care that her boyfriend/husband is a white trash hick. Frankly none of that affects me, and I wouldn’t waste my time criticizing Palin for her daughter.
My point is that clearly Palin’s ideas on teaching youth do not work. Perhaps if she taught her daughter about safe sex, she wouldn’t be a grandmother already. Maybe if she believed in teaching youth about life instead of trying to hide it from them there wouldn’t be pictures of her daughter drinking on the internet. And who knows, maybe, just maybe, her daughter wouldn’t be marrying a guy whose hobbies include “blowing shit up”. But go ahead, bash me some more. Go ahead and elect Palin. But I promise you I will say “I told you so” when your teenage daughter comes home pregnant because she didn’t know any better.
Since I’m on the topic of teenage pregnancy, I’d just like to point out that I never said “Yay abortion!” I simply pointed out the contradiction in being pro-life and pro death penalty. I also want to point out that making exceptions for abortion to be ok is in itself NOT pro-life. And while I have never seen an aborted baby murder someone, a raped woman should not be forced to have a child she did not ask for. A woman pregnant with a disabled child should be able to make the decision of whether or not she can handle that child. And before you go putting words in my mouth, let me clarify. I am not saying, “go abort your babies!!” What I am saying is that if you do not believe in it, you have the right to choose to keep your baby. A raped woman, a disabled child, a woman at risk, a scared teenage girl, they have the right as well. Until you have been put in their shoes, you really do not know what you would do. And these children, that Palin would force to be born, are more likely to become criminals than you or I are. So, go ahead, twist my words, call me a baby hater. But think about this–what gives you the right to take away another woman’s rights??

Caribou Barbie, Troopergate and lies.
Without a doubt, Caribou Barbie’s “Troopergate” is going to be an important point in this election. However, the media will not bat it around like catnip. “Troopergate” isn’t worthy of headlines, the media reserves the top spots for distorted comments taken out of context. (See pig + lipstick = headlines for days)
ABC news reports:
An internal government document obtained by ABC News appears to contradict Sarah Palin’s most recent explanation for why she fired her public safety chief, the move which prompted the now-contested state probe into “Troopergate.”
“The last straw,” her lawyer argued, came when he planned a trip to Washington, D.C., to seek federal funds for an aggressive anti-sexual-violence program. The project, expected to cost from $10 million to $20 million a year for five years, would have been the first of its kind in Alaska, which leads the nation in reported forcible rape.
The McCain-Palin campaign echoed the charge in a press release it distributed Monday, concurrent with Barbie’s legal filing. “Mr. Monegan persisted in planning to make the unauthorized lobbying trip to D.C.,” the release stated.
FUNNY, there seems to be a signed travel authorization form (if you missed it the first time… http://abcnews.go.com/images/Blotter/TA.pdf). Does anyone else see that, or am I completely mistaken? The document CLEARLY shows that Mike Nizic, Caribou Barbie’s Chief of Staff approved it, I highly doubt there was a lack communication between the two.
Is there really anything else that needs to be said about this?
Actually, yeah there is. To top it all off the subpoenaed parties are not responding. Since when did a governor become above the law? No man, woman or child should be able to evade being responsible for their actions. What happened to Palin welcoming the investigation? She finally figure out that the chickens are coming home to roost?
I hope the truth comes out, either way, believe me I would much prefer this not be the case.

Oh my god, really? Really?
Look, to be fair, I was halfway through a post last night on my own site about how ridiculous I thought all the hard-right Freepers/Cornerites/etc. were harping about Palin. She was basically their new Fred Thompson, but I am seriously dumbfounded that they would have been this stupid.
Don’t get me wrong, on a PR level, this is masterful for McCain. He’s killed all the momentum and press coverage about Obama’s amazing convention speech. So, I really am amazed they think that one shot at gaining the press advantage was worth the most unbelievably inept VP pick I could have possibly imagined.
Forget even searching among fields of conservatives in general: is anyone from the McCain camp going to make a convincing case that Palin is remotely close to the most qualified woman in the GOP to be a heartbeat away from taking over a guy who turned 72 and has a history of cancer? She has been governor- for 18 months- of a state with a population smaller than Obama’s state senate district in Illinois. Her previous office was the mayor of an Alaskan town with a population smaller than 10,000 people. At the very minimum, Obama has sat in on foreign policy sessions and dealt with national and international issues on the floor of the U.S. Senate. Palin has no foreign policy experience. This is literally one step above giving the slot to the winner of a game show.
So, in what I can only perceive as a complete fit of insanity, McCain has decided to destroy with one pick the three talking points he had as an advantage over Obama:
Experience: She has none. Palin is utterly unqualified to be president of the U.S. Senate, let alone the country should anything befall McCain.
Celebrity: She’s a former beauty pageant winner who’s done multiple cover shoots for fashion and culture magazines and her claim to fame is being the subject of an article titled “America’s Hottest Governor.” There will be more talk about how she’s attractive than her actual policy credentials. Her gender, in light of her utter political weakness, will be seen blatantly- and rightly- as the novelty McCain picked it for. There is no clearer a celebrity pick for McCain than this one.
Moderate Female Voters: Putting aside for a moment that she’s outrageously anti-choice, if McCain truly believes that what really appeals to middle-age, working-class, white women is a younger, prettier, but amazingly less-qualified woman getting the promotion that Hillary Clinton didn’t, then I can’t really reflect any greater how utterly deaf to the interests of women the Republican Party is.
If McCain wanted a former beauty queen with no experience and a criminal investigation on her record I don’t know why he didn’t just pick his own wife.

Dear Sarah Palin Supporters…
Sarah Palin, the self proclaimed soccer mom turned politician, was quoted in 2006 as saying she, “cannot be the team mom” if she is a U.S. senator. Now, two years later, Palin has added a baby boy to her own team, and has a grandchild on the way. Her youngest son, Trig 5 months old, has Down syndrome. Her other children are 7, 13, 17, and 19. I imagine any mother with five children would have her hands full; Vice President of the United States does not seem to have much room in there. That is not to say that a woman cannot be in office and be a good mother, but with four children Palin admitted she did not have the time for senate; it would appear as though her youngest child alone would make the senate even more out of reach, add three other underage children, and soon a grandchild, she is going to be one busy woman.
Palin’s personal life aside, her big brother like behavior as mayor of Wasilla, and governor of Alaska lead me to question her ability to make fair, ethical decisions without letting her beauty queen emotions get involved. For someone that claims to keep her church and personal agenda out of her political life, it seems to have poked its ugly head into almost every decision she has made, including choosing, and firing, government officials.
In her very first term as Mayor of Wasilla, Palin began eliminating positions and taking advantage of her new found power. She demanded updated resumes from the police chief, public works director, finance director and the librarian. Her reasoning for this? She wanted to know what their intentions were, and whether or not they supported her; because I am sure that the librarian had a hidden agenda. Mary Ellen Emmons, librarian, was asked in October of 1996 if she would object to censorship. Emmons told Palin that the American Civil Liberties Union would end up involved. Only three short months later, Palin fired Emmons. After Emmons decided to back Palin in a plan involving the library, Palin gave Emmons her job back, isn’t she is generous?
Palin also fired the Police chief that day, saying she did not think he supported her. It must be nice to be in power and just get rid of anyone who does not worship you. According to an article in the New York Times, “Palin has pursued vendettas, fired officials who crossed her and blurred the line between government and personal grievance”. More recently, the Alaska legislature ordered an investigation on the Palin’s reasons for the dismissal of Public Safety Commissioner Walter Monegan.
I’m still not convinced that Palin herself has a clear view of her own stand on political issues. Take abortion, for example. One can either be pro-life or pro-choice. Not one with exceptions wherever they see fit. Palin claims to be pro-life unless the mother is at risk. But, is that not in itself a choice? Does the mother at risk not have to choose between her own life and that of her baby’s? One cannot truly be pro-life if they would choose to kill their own baby to save themselves. Speaking of lives, how funny to be pro-life, and also be for the death penalty. Tell me that isn’t a giant contradiction in itself. So a woman that is pregnant due to rape must have her baby even though it was not her decision to become pregnant; but we can kill criminals. This is interesting use of government money if you ask me. Save millions a year in executing prisoners. Average spending per year on prisons is between $60 billion. Then lose the money again with children going into foster homes, and more families using the welfare system. Currently the government spends almost $500 billion a year on the welfare system. I can only see that number rising though, since she doesn’t believe in teaching adolescents about safe sex. Oh well, we can just kill some more prisoners to make up for the money.
Of course, Palin knows all about taking money from one area, and moving it to another. For example, being the sacrificial woman that she is, she fired her personal chef. Oh, but wait, she then rehired him to be her personal assistant. But, being so frugal, she sold her jet, and lived at home while governing Alaska most of the year. She only spent $93,000 on herself and another $43,000 on travel for herself and her family. And even though that is more than 90% of the American population makes in one year, it is still less than her predecessor spent. See, she is saving money, right?
Speaking of money, how about the Bridges to Nowhere? I keep hearing ads on the television saying that “Palin did away” with them. Interestingly enough, when Palin ran for governor in 2006, part of her platform was, “build-the-bridge”. That doesn’t sound like someone eager to do away with the plan. Quite the contrary actually, she was hoping things would move along more swiftly, “while our congressional delegation is in a strong position to assist”. Hm, so why the change in attitude? She says, that “it’s clear that Congress has little interest in spending any more money on a bridge between Ketchikan and Gravina Island”; but of course the wise Palin suggested coming up with a new plan. Unfortunately, the new plan, which Palin still backs today, Don Young’s Way, is estimated as costing twice as much as the original bridge. Too bad the media doesn’t include that in their ads. Then again, this is the same media that praises her for being able to shoot a moose out of a helicopter. Why not try actually tracking the moose before you shoot it? Oh but wait, she might get her designer shoes dirty. And since when is being able to shoot something a prerequisite for office? While I will say that she has better aim than our current Vice President, I do not think that entitles her to the position.

Caribou Barbie…me…you…them…the election…the coyote in lipstick…S.O.S. (you pick the meaning)…cheating in middle school…
I was born in 1969 and hold a master’s degree in English. I have taught literacy to adults and children. I have worked in geriatric healthcare, the service industry, journalism, the financial sector, and the Arts. I am politically active in local, state and national issues. I have grown up poor, and have even been branded a “product of the system” during my adulthood. Humorously, I too have been told I am quite funny, but I do not think these statements qualify me for the office of vice-president.
To be perfectly honest, I am probably more qualified to be mayor of Wasilla, Alaska than one Sarah Palin. Fortunately for her, I cannot stand the cold and would not be willing to move to Alaska from my home in Florida. Ironically, based upon Ms. Palin’s own geopolitical logic, the fact that Florida may be the farthest removed state from Alaska, more than qualifies me to be the greatest living critic of Caribou Barbie’s bid for this country’s vice presidency. My logic? I cannot see Alaska from my front porch, ere go, I cannot even wrap my head around the notion of Sarah Palin as vice president…That statement is of course ludicrous, illogical, and my critics (fans of Caribou Barbie) should be the first to point this flawed logic in my thinking. Unfortunately, these same people are completely incapable of applying that same, Socratic logic in their decision for a President.
As a nation, we have become distracted this election. We have forgotten that we have been boondoggled, lied to and robbed for the last 8 years by an administration whose president was “just like you.” By whatever methods, W. fooled an entire electorate into thinking he was just a good, ol’ boy from Texas, and wound up in the White House–twice! He then proceeded to screw all the good, ol’ boys that I know voted for him by protecting the upper 1% of this country’s population from the IRS, the SEC, the FDA, the FBI, the Justice Department, the Senate and the Supreme Court. It took most of this country just under 8 years to wake up, but most of the good, ol’ boys knew sooner…W. was never anything like them.
Good, ol’ boy John McCain gave up his good, ol’ boy privileges when he sold his soul to the RNC for their party’s nomination. We all learned, quicker than he has, that the Straight Talk Express met a soul-selling end during that final turn towards Pennsylvania Avenue.
Enter Sarah Palin, a good, ol’ boy for the 21st Century–”a good, ol’ gal”!
Now, I’m not saying Sarah is stupid, but everyone on a college campus who is NOT a communications major, makes fun of the vapid, irrelevant nature of a communications degree. I believe the NFL is largely comprised of third year, communications majors.
I’m not saying Sarah is a liar, but most of her highly publicized claims, I am discovering, are refuted throughout the web, press and fake news, but with little attention by the talking heads on TV. Well, screw the media elite and the crowd they may or may not be looking down their noses at.
The mainstream media is blind, afraid, or just too stupid to stand up to this woman’s inefficacy. Well, I for one am tired…sick and tired. I’m tired of having to hunt for facts that refute TV’s talking heads (regardless of their network affiliation). I’m sick of being told by my government that it has my best interests in my mind as: my neighbors lose their homes; my friends get killed overseas in a war for money; college grants and scholarships disappear; the price of gas continues to skyrocket…I’m sick of the super-elite of this nation making tons of money while telling my uneducated neighbors that they too are just “good, ol’ boys” like themselves.
To my neighbors that would vote McCain/Palin in ‘08, the kid gloves are off…this is for keeps. If you vote for these people, you are stupid. Most of you weren’t going to vote at all until McCain signed on Caribou Barbie. I am an educated man who does more research on his political choices than most of you have done for your fantasy football picks. Trust my research, and look at the facts for yourself. When we were both in school together, you had no problem deferring to my intellect to get you through the 8th grade. Now, suddenly, that same intellect that went on to high school, college and grad school is no longer of any merit to you…but you would happily send your kids to me to prepare them for college. Be an adult on this one “good ol’ boys and gals,” let the smart people do the thinking for you on this–like you did in school.
To the Obama/Biden campaign: Since you obviously will not pick up the fight against this “coyote in lipstick,” my friends and I will pick up that fight for you. We will rage against the dying of the middle class that seems to scare you so badly, and Caribou Barbie so painfully represents. We will pick up the megaphone you ignore and shout to the world what you are currently, only whispering, “SARAH PALIN IS NOT QUALIFIED TO BE VICE PRESIDENT, AND THE MCCAIN CAMPAIGN ONLY PICKED HER TO SWAY THE UNEDUCATED VOTER!” We will fight the good fight that you seem so unwilling to knuckle-up to.
To our supporters and other Palin detractors, we have provided you with a highly visible venue to spread the word. If your post is fact, and it helps prove what a Caribou Barbie Sarah Palin actually is, send it in. I’m hoping that grass roots efforts like this will help stem the electoral tide rolling towards McCain’s favor. Unfortunately, like Hunter S. Thompson before his death, I believe “the fix is in.” So, at least humor me and don’t let our first, female vice president be an unqualified, humorless fun hog who is only selling her soul in much the same fashion as W., Lott, McCain, Cheney, Rove, Rumsfeld, ENRON, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Bear Stearns, et al. did to make a few, hundred million dollars. Think about that list of famous, republican people and organizations. That’s who Sarah Palin represents. That’s your republican party today.
Agree or disagree with those of us at cariboubarbie.com, but look at that list of names. Remember the last 8 years. Do you want more of the same? That may not be what Caribou Barbie is promising you, but it’s definitely what she’s bringing to this party…mahalo
